Cricket is back in Karachi’s National Stadium After 9 Years. West Indies vs Pakistan
West Indies players have been very humble in joining Pakistan Super League. Plus this country is also one of those countries which volunteered to tour Pakistan after the sad incident of attack on Sri Lanka national cricket team in Lahore.
So all around the world, a match in a Pakistani stadium is a hype. This time it was between Pakistan and West Indies. Pakistani side took the batting side today and they were off to a good start. Mostly top order of the Pakistani team seems to crumble but this time they stood together for forty-six runs of opening partnership.
After the LBW of the opener Babar Azam, Husnain Talat came in, another newcomer into the side. Then Fakhar Zaman got out and the captain Sarfraz Ahmed himself walked in with responsibility of taking Pakistani team across the winning line.
Husnain Talat and Sarfraz Ahmed took the stand of 75 runs and get Pakistan to the point where the match was looking difficult for the West Indies side. After the fall of Husnain Talat, Pakistan’s all-time favorite allrounder Shoaib Malik came in. But within 16 runs 2 more wickets were lost.
The tail end batting along with the experience of Shoaib Malik came into play. The partnership between Shoaib Malik and Faheem Ashraf was very crucial that took Pakistan to a total of 203 runs for 5 wickets.
Sarfraz Ahmed has a knack for keeping good blowers on the team. He bowled almost seven bowlers which crumbled the West Indies batting line up. The overs of Nawaz and Amir in the start were quite impressive they took West Indies starting lineup by surprise.
Then came in the Shadab and Malik’s spin bowling. This duo took three wickets in no time and West Indies lineup was under great pressure and the fall was inevitable. Husnain Talat was given opportunity and he took the last wicket.
The interesting thing about this match was the records of the highest T20 total for Pakistani team and the lowest T20 total for the West Indies team. The debutant from Pakistan side Hussain Tallat was announced as Player of the Match for his 41 runs, 1 wicket and 3 brilliant catches in the field.
There are some rumors that west indies cricket board deliberately send the lower end team to Pakistan. Hope to see good performances from the West Indies team and Pakistani team in the next matches good luck for both teams.
