Things to Do During Pregnancy
A well-balanced diet is a key to a healthy pregnancy as it ensures continuous and healthy growth of the unborn child as well as the health and strength of the mother to be able to hold the child for nine months. Calcium-rich foods are a requirement as they enhance the growth of bones especially for the child and help to prevent bone loss in the mother and important in preventing pregnancy-induced high blood pressure. Calcium intake can be enhanced by taking lots of non-fat milk or soya milk.

Drinking water and nutritionist drinks are important to prevent constipation and provide for the increase in the blood volume that carries nutrients to the baby. Nutritious fluids such as orange juice or sodium V8 can also come hand in hand. Protein-rich foods like lean meat chicken without skin fish act as a source of iron as they help to provide a constant supply of oxygen to the baby.
Small exercises are also advised but they should not be vigorous, walking around with a dog cannot do you any damage but enhance your pregnant health due to the mobility of muscles, one should avoid sitting on one place for a long time as it can contribute bring backaches. There are also some minor things that a woman can do to enhance comfortability such as slipping with a pillow between the legs and sleeping on the sides.

Things to Avoid During Pregnancy
Alcohol intake should completely be cut off as it leads to issues related to irreversible birth defects and on a higher scale may cause a miscarriage. Caffeine is another stimulant that is completely prohibited during pregnancy as it may cause birth defects or affect birth weights, mild caffeine intake may also lead to a miscarriage.

Soft unpasteurized cheese like feta brie and camembert as well as ready to eat meats like hot dogs are known to contain listeria bacteria that causes mild flu-like symptoms in most adults and can be very dangerous to an unborn child mostly leading to miscarriages. Hair dyes should also be avoided as they do get into the system after absorption by the scalp and may be dangerous to the baby.
Vigorous exercises such as heavy weight lifting horse riding fast running should be avoided especially in the vast development stage of the pregnancy as they overstraining the joints.
