Sohail Akhtar PSL Lahore Qalandars

Sohail Akhtar is a Pakistani cricketer who was born on 2 March 1986 in Haripur. Haripur is a small city in Hazara district KPK Pakistan. Sohail Akhtar is a talented batsman who plays for Lahore Qalandar in Pakistan Super League.

The right-handed batsman started his domestic career in 2012-2013. He played his first-class match for Abbottabad Falcons in the 2012-2013 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy.

Quaid-e-Azam Trophy is one of the biggest cricket competitions in Pakistan. The first edition of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy was played in 1953–54. The purpose of the biggest tournament in Pakistan is to pick up the right talent that can represent the Pakistan International team.

Sohail Akhtar PSL career started in 2018 with Lahore Qalandars. The middle-order batsman is known for his hard-hitting batting. He performed well in the Paksitan Super League 2018, therefore, Lahore Qanaldars retained him for the next PSL season.

Sohail Akhtar PSL Team

So far, Lahore Qalandar is the only team Sohail Akhtar has played for. He came into the side as a middle-order batsman. Due to his good cricket, Lahore Qalandar’s staff appointed him as a Captain of the side.

Now, he is the most successful Captain for Lahore Qalandars. Under his captaincy, LQ has played 23 matches and won 12 of them.

The batting stats of Sohail Akhtar are excellent in PSL, and he is among the top run-scorer of the competition. So far, he has played 42 matches and scored 774 runs.

His batting average in the PSL tournament is 24.96, and his strike rate is 123.24. Three times in the tournament he has crossed 50 runs mark.

In a match against Islamabad United, he made his highest best 75 runs. Until now in the PSL league, he hits 77 boundaries and 30 long sixes.

For a batsman who plays in the middle-order position, the above stats are excellent. 9 times in the tournament he remained not out and got out 2 times on 0 runs.

Under his captaincy, Lahore Qalandar first time reached the finals of PSL 2020. They fought well in the finals but lost to Karachi Kings.

Sohail Akhtar PSL 7 (2022)

Sohail Akhtar will not be seen captaining the LQ in PSL 2022 but will be a part of LQs. Shaheen Shah Afridi is the new captain of Lahore’s team.
